Building Better Financial Models Together

We started CloudXPortal in late 2021 because we kept seeing the same problem. Analysts would spend hours building models that looked impressive but didn't actually help with decisions.

The formulas worked. The spreadsheets had colors and charts. But when it came time to answer real questions about business performance or forecasting, something was missing.

What We Actually Do

We teach financial modeling, but not the way most places do it. Our programs focus on the thinking behind the numbers rather than just the mechanics of Excel.

A good model starts with understanding what questions need answers. Then you figure out what data matters and how to structure it. The technical part comes after that foundation is solid.

Most of our students work in Thailand's financial sector. Some are fresh graduates trying to break into analysis roles. Others have been working for years but want to build models that actually get used in meetings instead of filed away.

We've trained over 340 analysts since 2022. Some work at banks in Bangkok. Others handle forecasting for manufacturing companies in the south. A few have moved into consulting or corporate strategy roles.

How We Think About This Work

These aren't corporate values we put on a wall. They're the principles that shape how we design programs and work with students.

Practical First

Every technique we teach comes with context about when to use it and when simpler approaches work better. Theory matters, but only when it connects to actual decisions people need to make.

Honest Feedback

If a model has problems, we point them out clearly. Students improve faster when they know exactly what needs work rather than getting vague encouragement about effort.

Real Scenarios

Our case studies come from actual projects we've worked on or that our instructors have encountered. Made-up examples don't teach you how messy real data can be.

Skills That Transfer

Financial modeling principles apply across industries. We focus on building judgment about assumptions, data quality, and presentation rather than memorizing formulas.

Questions Welcome

The best learning happens when students ask about things that confuse them. We encourage questions during sessions and maintain discussion channels where instructors respond within a day.

Long-Term Growth

A single course doesn't make you an expert. We design programs that build on each other and give students resources they can reference months or years later when facing new challenges.

Who Teaches Here

Our instructors have spent years building models for banks, investment firms, and corporate finance departments. They know what works in practice because they've done this work themselves. Teaching for us isn't a side project. It's what we focus on full-time, which means we can iterate on curriculum and stay current with how the field is changing.

You'll work with different instructors depending on which program you join. Some focus on valuation and investment analysis. Others specialize in operational forecasting or scenario planning. All of them can explain complex concepts without making you feel lost.

How Our Programs Work

We run cohort-based programs that typically last three to four months. Most students spend 6-8 hours per week on coursework, including live sessions, assignments, and project work.

Each program follows a similar structure. You start with foundational concepts and build toward a capstone project based on a realistic business scenario. Along the way, you complete smaller exercises that reinforce specific techniques.

Our next cohort starts in September 2025. Applications open in June, and we typically accept 25-30 students per program to keep the instructor-to-student ratio manageable.

  • Weekly live sessions where instructors work through examples and answer questions
  • Practice assignments with detailed feedback on your approach and execution
  • Access to recorded content you can review when concepts need another pass
  • Discussion forums where students and instructors exchange ideas throughout the program
  • Final project presentations where you explain your model and the reasoning behind it
